Nexus 5548 Port Setting 1

We have a Nexus 5548 switch. When configuring the 1g port you have to specify 1000 for speed. There is no option for Auto. The only option for auto is the duplex. Now one the server or device connecting to the nexus, do you have to hardcode the speed or can you simply do Auto/Auto? I've connected servers with auto/auto and they work fine, I'm wondering about this.

Hi, I believe that the old issue of ports configured for auto/auto connected to ports hardcoded for 10/100Meg where the auto will always come up in 100/HD were fixed in the development of 1G and faster. Which would explain why you are not seeing an error.
