Hello,
I've got a fact table containing salesperson IDs and a lookup table with their IDs & names.
I'd like to set-up a dimension so that - when I choose the dimension in Excel - BOTH the salesperson ID and his/her name appears in the worksheet by default (if possible in two separate Excel columns to avoid formatting problems due to varying lenghts of the ids/names).
I tried two separate dimensions, but getting data for a combination of two independent dimensions appears too slow.
Using multilevel dimension I was unable to convince Excel
to show BOTH levels by default (I had to "click through"
all the members).
I'd like to avoid joining the two fields in the underlying
table/view, if possible.
Pls help.
TIA.
