newbie tom cat does not load

Hi,

I have just started to install Tomcat 5.0.19 using information from the Internet. I thought all had gone well until I launched c:\tomcat\bin\startup.bat

A DOS screen popped up and started loading for a few secs and then hangs on the following:

org.apache.catalina.startup.catalina start
INFO: Server startup in 2860 ms

And that's it! it just hangs there.I looked in task manager and it says it's running.

I have set the environments
CATALINA_HOME C:\tomcat and JAVA_HOME C:\sun\appserver\jdk

Any ideas will be appreciated.

Hi Dzon

Did you try doing a

http://localhost:8080

to see if Tomcat is really running or not. To me it looks like its running. Also see if the connector in server.xml is uncommented for 8080. There are options to make that window disappear or stay there

You are correct!!

It is running. I cannot find out how to close the window. Can u give me more detail please as I do not want to break it :O)
