Is there a command to locate a file on our root device? A command similar to the dos command "dir filename /s" where is will search all sub directories also.

Thanks!

Thanks,

I did try this before and got nothing back. Does this only check the current directory?

No, the find command searches all sub-directories within it also. So, if you didn't find the file , then it is probably not there or you mis-spelt the name. Are you using wild characters ?

Cheers.

I did find it. I was looking for the wrong file.

Thanks!
