Newbie seeking a starting place

I just got word yesterday that I will be involved in a project which will use dcom/com. I am trying to find tutorials and something to give me an idea of how dcom is supposed to work. Any suggestions? Books?

The way DCOM/COM work is sorta dependent on what language you'll be using in your project. That's not to say they function differently at a lower level, but what you see from VB is way different from what you see in VC++.
