We have some legacy code for Power Builder 5 that we need to update to migrate to a Windows 2019 server.

I've been asked to research how to upgrade this code from PB5 to PB6 or higher?

I am COMPLETELY new to PowerBuilder :( Does anyone have any quick pointers they could share with a newb on this one? Thanks in Advance!!

One of my first questions is actually what IDE would I use for PB 5?

Go to and look at the latest version (2019). They have some tutorials and such and you can download a trial version. You can then experiment with migrating your ancient code to the latest version.

Best of luck.

PowerBuilder has it's own IDE, there aren't any third party IDEs that will support it.
