Hi all

Please excuse the newbie q in advance. We are a small I.T. solution provider and have a few clients who have SBS2003. Most of the businesses have a requirement for remote users to access corporate info now, we give them access to email either via OWA or Outlook via the web but for access to data we are still using VPN, I want to look at Sharepoint as a possible alternative but know nothing about it and have never used it. Is sharepoint a viable alternative as a means of accessing corporate word / excel docs mainly remotely (and locally too I guess)
Are there any good reads as an introduction to sharepoint for a newb?

Many thanks in advance
Darren

No, this is not the same league.
To use sharepoint means to give up using shared folders in an network. Instead documents will be uploaded in a library and actually stored in an sql database. There are lots of benefits in using sharepoint like versioning, approuvel sistems but this are to be whished by user as improvements. From an network admin interest there is no benefit.
