Newbie question on Sun java

I maybe this have already been answered but I did not found anything...

Is there someone who know why the sun java version aren't evolutive? (why can i install numerous versions in parallel, the versions aren't upgraded!)

Any toughts

Don't know the answer to your question but what I did was go into add/remove programs and remove the old version first. Then download the new version.
 
Hi, I've tried that but some java applications won't work with the updated version.

Applications seems to be "linked" with their version of sun java.
