Hey All - I have a block of DID's available to me from my TelCo & am trying to map them to internal ext.'s from within CCM 3.3
Bottom line: Last 3 #'s of DID needs to match the Ext #

If I have missed a thread in my searching, please point me in the right direction.
Thanks

Are the Dids coming in on a pri, T1 or copper circuits?

How many digits are you getting?

Here's the scenerio we have. did's come in on a digital circuit (ISDN PRI) they terminate on a cisco 2821 router
on ti cards we have MGCP Gateways defined on the call manager to recieve all significant digits

and then we make the dn to match the did's

ex 7334 is a number of a phone in the call manager phone sys. Our Range of numbers is 7200-7599 so it is in the range Some one calls XXX-XXX-7334 and it rings that phone

We made our extensions match the did range...
If you can't do that you need to translate the incoming numbers with the translation patterns in the call manager

ex your range is 3 digit your ex are 4 digit

you set up the extension numbers up already and your did range does not match (I hate it when that happens)

If you have to do translations Its best to get experienced help

Good luck

Not sure about the circuit. But we have the same scenario you explain...current Direct numbers are ###-###-9XXX and our internal Extensions are the XXX.
I have looked all over CM & there was never any special setup (like translations) to handle this.
I have a sick feeling the telco hasn't made the DID active, so it then give me fast busy's no matter what I try!!

If the call does not sucessfully complet to terminal equipment it will give you a fast busy even if you have

the circuits active from Telco
ex if my call manager goes down and I try to call into my phone(a did extension )from home I get a busy or a canned message..
you have some options here... you can simply add a 4 digit extension as a secon line on a programed 79xx phone
ex say you have a phone a 7940 programed as ex 345
make it a 2 line phone in phone template assuming you have a two line template if not just add one..
click on the 2nd line and add a dn that is in your range of did's

ex your range of did's is 2300-2350
make it say 2322 as long as you get css and partition right it should work

the other way is to strip the first digit on a translation pattern that can be tricky you should get a vendor for that..
