Hi,
I'm a complete newbie to Cisco so I'd really apreciate any help here...
I need help in setting up my practice lab which consists of 2 x Cisco 2610 routers each with an ethernet and a serial interface. I've got a DB60 DCE/DTE cable, and I want to emulate a leased line.
Are there any good guides out there, or could anyone point me in the right direction? This is what I've done so far:
router1 (eth0/0 192.168.4.100/24) - This has a serial interface with a DTE / DCE DB60 cable to router2. The DTE end is in this router.
router2 (eth0/0 192.168.5.100/24) - This has a serial connection with the DCE end.
I've set up my hostnames, and passwords, given each routers ethernet interface an IP address (see above), but I have no idea where to start to get the two routers talking?
I read about setting the clock rate on the router with the DCE end, which I've done. As expected, I can't ping the other router, so I guess I need to setup routing? Should this be static or using RIP? Am I completely off course here?
The configuration of all my interfaces are as follows:
router1#show int eth0/0
