Hello,

I am new to the Partner phone system. SBC just provisioned two new analog lines into our Partner ACS release 5 system. The lines are working and we can dial out with them but we want the two lines to be giving one ext. of 12 and a voicemail box. I have read the manually and it instructs me to use #301 to setup but it doesn't seem to be working. Can anyone explain in a step by step process how to do this. I would really appreciate it.

Thanks,

Ray

Please a system inventory of your modules, including processor release info, expansion module info, and carrier info (2-slot, 5-slot, or none).

Okay,

It is a pretty straight forward setup. Here is the inventory:

5-slot carrier
· ACS R-5 Processor
· 400 EC Module
· Partner Messaging R-3 module

Any help would be much appreciated.

Set #206, hunt group 7 for those lines to 3=VMS line cover

Set #208 for those lines as data 12

This will set ownership of those lines to extension 12.

#301 merely assigns the lines to the phones, it doesn't assign ownership.

Make sure #310 is also assigned for extension 12 as well.

Okay, thanks for that info. I have a silly question though, in the manual for #208 it says:

1. Press feature 0 0 System Program System Program #208 at ext 10 or 11

2. Enter the desired Line number (this is the port on which the anolog line is coming in ?)

How do I tell which line numbers are assigned to the two new POTS lines?

Thanks again for your help

Hi Sikorskys70

I hope I can help here.

Option #208 is asking for the port numbers that the 2 new telephones lines are plugged into on the telephone system.

Simply go back to where the SBC (Now AT&T) demarc is located, find where the 2 new telephone lines appear and trace the line cord that runs from that demarc to the telephone system. (I would hazard a guess that you will find them plugged into ports on the 400EC).
