I'm trying to setup a Linux kickstart server but I'm getting stuck with this error. This is my first time setting it up and it's trial and error. I need some help. Thanks.

Unable to read package metadata. This is due to a missing repodata directory. Please ensure that your install tree has been correctly generated. Cannot open/read repomd.xml file for repository: anaconda-base-200702081624.i386

The file reposmd.xml is there in the repodata directory.

Yes but it has to be available for other machines callign the kickstart server for network install.

WHat kind of networking have you chosen for kickstart, html, ftp or NFS?

If I could have sex each time I reboot my server, I would definitely prefer Windoz over Linux!

First, basic check, can you FTP correclty the server?

Second check.
Have you got and anaconda.cfg file available via FTP?

You can get one from the first installation of your server in the /root directory.

I have a file called anaconda-ks.cfg in my /root directory.
Where should I put this file? Also, I just tried the http method, and getting the same error message.
these are all the steps that I have done so far.

1. Created /data/net-install/ISO directory contains disc1.iso to disc5.iso

2. I edit the /etc/httpd/conf.d/kickstart.conf

NameVirtualHost 10.x.x.x

#
# For HTTP Installations
#
<VirtualHost 10.x.x.x>
DocumentRoot /data/
</VirtualHost>

<Directory /data/network-install>
Options +Indexes
AllowOverride AuthConfig
order allow,deny
allow from all
</Directory>

I chose HTTP for the install and type 10.x.x.x
and /data/net-install for the web directory.

I'n not sure what else to look. The permissions for the discx.iso

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 660252672 Jun 25 13:02 disk1.iso
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 660840448 Jun 25 13:06 disk2.iso
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 660455424 Jun 25 13:10 disk3.iso
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 658784256 Jun 25 13:13 disk4.iso
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 234301440 Jun 25 13:15 disk5.iso

You must make it available to machines after a PXE boot so, unless you have shared your /root directory (very unwise) you should put it in the ftp root.
