Wow, ok..make it simple:

Netware 6 supports anything and everything that is Intel Based and is new. Netware 5 also supports anything and everything, Netware 4.11 supports anything and everything. Anything older that Netware 4.11 stay away from..too old and outdated and very much a pain to work with,.

Netware is easy to install. With a bootable cd, and a 20 or 30 or whatever size hard dirve or raid configuration (SCSI) you can follow the prompts and install it. You just need to do some preliminary work. IE, you want to DOS partition on your hard drive at least 500 meg or larger in size (I recomend a 1 gig partition) for the CORE OS files to reside and any upgrades that need to be done. The rest of the free space will be used for the file system (netware volumes) and other applications that will run on the OS as well as file storage.

To help you further, I would go out to support.novell.com or developer.novell.com and download the documentation you need to install and configure the OS.

You may also want to invest in a Netware 5 or Netware 6 (not released yet but 5 will do) manual so you can properly access the screens etc.

Finally, once you understand that and the Novell client for NW 5/6 you should be able to login and run NWADMIN, create your user accounts and setup the file system security.

Since you are testing, have fun. If you get ready to put this on a live network, you may want to enlist the help from those of us who use Netware as part of day to day work. The Lad and TheBoySmith are very knowledgeable as well and can offer a lot of good input.

Also, since Netware 6 is the newest OS out there, you can download it from the website or for 15.00 you can purchase the Eval cd version.

Enjoy and Long Live Novell..

Let me know if you have additional questions.
