newbie/ HELP tracing

Have input as template/also done as new layer/ problem is I can't get the pencil tool to draw the next line without the previous line dissappearing. I know I need to take a class on this but right now I have two logo's to re-do & I need HELP. Please!

dont click right on the last point of the existing path when you start drawing again. For some reason Illustrator assumes you want to start over. Instead start your next stroke from just a little bit before the end of the first line (like you would use a real pencil for sketching)

Thanks for the quick reply! SOMEHOW, I was able to do that last night. But today, on another logo, no matter WHERE I place the pen (I'm using the pencil coz' I don't know how to operate all those lines on the pen yet) the previous line disappears. I even went out and bought a Wacom drawing tablet to make this easier. Just don't know what I hit last night that I'm not hitting today.

double click on the pencil tool to bring up its options. You might find something there. Also, try to be already moving your cursur by the time you click.
