Hi Guys,

I'm using "Liberum" ASP helpdesk which is fantastic, but I'm having problems getting the email side setup. I have no idea how to go about it in a step-by-step fashion and google results are pretty limited.
I understand that I need to use CDOSYS.DLL which is included in the SMTP Virual Server componant which is installed.
This is on Windows 2003 Server (IIS6), but I have no idea how to "configure" any settings such as enter in my SMTP server etc.

The mails I would be sending will be internal, therefore handeled by our Exchange server (not the localhost).

Any help appreciated guys.

Cheers,

Steve.

I assume that you have already created a role for that computer as an applications server--meaning Web server, maile server, etc. If not, then you need to do so.

You setup the SMTP server under the IIS MMC. Right-click and select properties. I am not sure on where your specific problem is, but perhaps this will give you a head start.

Sorry for the delay. I'm using Liberum helpdesk and wanted to use the email feature. (CDONTS, ASPMail, ASPEmail and JMail supported)
I've never used this before and was after some advice on seting up IIS for send mail to a remote (abeit on the same LAN) exchange server.
Ended up tracking down ASPEmail on the web. I was confused as I read it was free, but everywhere kept asking for payment!!!

For anyone who was in my situation:

ASPEmail is free
CDONTS is also free, but will only work if your localhost is the email server. (NOT remote support)
Download ASPEmail and run the wizard.

Easy As! :)

Cheers,

Steve.
