I would appreciate if anybody has any material to learn pearl scripting ? May be with examples.

perl, you will not find any books about pearl unless you want to learn about shell fish.

I think o'Reilly do a CD set with the 'Camel' book and the 'Llama' book.

They do: "Programming Perl" and "Learning Perl" respectively. The latter would be the introductory book.

hehehe... maybe Ishnid, but in that case he should be on the pearl forum. And, hopefully, it was obvious I was just being silly.

I, as always, suggest the "Perl Bookshelf Reference" on CD. Version 3 includes:


Perl in a Nutshell, 2nd Edition
Programming Perl, 3rd Edition
Learning Perl, 3rd Edition
Perl Cookbook
Perl and XML
Perl and LWP
Mastering Perl/Tk

older versions have different books

I have been working a bit with Perl in my summerjob and was completely new to it. These links was enough to get the simple funtionality I needed from my perl scripts. They are easily found through Google so maybe this post isn't very valuable
