I have a question: I know nothing about after effects and my friend lent me her computer and I'm here tonight just to do one thing which she wrote me out detailed instructions to do. However one thing is happening which makes no sense which is when I click he RAM Preview button it only previews the first 20 seconds of the sequence (instead of the 2:30 which is how long it is)and then plays it in a loop. The fill 2:30 is on the time line so I don't get it and I don't know how to make it preview the whole time line. It's probably easy but I don't know this program. Any help appreciated.

That is because you do not have enough ram to rampreview the whole timeline. You can go: Ctrl+M to export the timeline to a video. Then you can se the whole video with all your effects applied to it.

or you could turn off the audio in ram preview, or use a lower setting or fps, or smaller window size.
