Problem:::

Definity Site Administration --- Release R1.5.06

I need to change extension number *397 (an emergency number) name and the associated phone number from whatever it is, to the new number.

I am assuming that it would be under abbreviated-dialing

"Type" "No." "Total" "Unused" "Priv." "Prg Ext"
"group" "1" "70" "9" "n" "2374"
"group" "2" "15" "15" "n" "2389"
"group" "3" "15" "15" "n" "2451"
"group" "5" "15" "15" "n" "2352"
"group" "86" "5" "3" "n" ""
"system" "" "100" "85" "y" ""

when I disp console --- page 2

I see that List2: group 86 is listed

When I disp abb group 86, I get this:

Am I on the right track? It’s taken me several days to get to this point as I have never worked with this type of system in this capacity. The previous administrator didn’t set the system up, but said I was going in the right direction ?

So, where do I change the name and number associate with *397? I don't even know the terminology too well, so that in itself is a hurdle.

Could someone give me some commands to run so I can narrow down what changes I may need to make? Mostly, identifying where *397 is located, and its associated properties.

Many Thanks

Look for *3 under "display feature" to see what feature access code this is.

Usually *3 is the default for send all calls feature, but it could be different on your system.

Post what it is when you find it.

Quoting only proves you know how to cut and paste.

I'm guessing here that *3 is a feature access code and 97 is an abbreviated dialing code.

If you enter the command display feature-access-codes the first three entries are abbreviated diaing list access codes. See if you see the *3 there, and if so what list number is it associated with.

If it is assigned as List 3 access code for example, you have list 3 assigned as the system speed dial list.
Then if you display abbreviated-dialing system you'll see dial codes ranging from 00 to 99. Whatever number is beside 97 is the number that is called when someone dials *397

bleebrant: you get the goldstar!
