hello. i am kind of new in flash...all i want to know is how to open a new url in a different window...

Hi, welcome to the Great World of Flash,
Use the Get URL Actionscript and put the URL in where it asks. In target put in "new" (without quotation marks). Tada! [sig][/sig]

eh...thanks for the advice, dude...but
Welcome to the Great world of being nice enough to not make new users feel like ignorants...by the way, what you told me to do didnt work...tada! i figured that i had to type : "new" (yeah, quotation marks) in 'window'...thanks anyway...now i got it...see you

Yo dude,
I was not attempting to make you feel ignorant, I was trying to excentuate the greatness of Macromedia Flash, not take credit for it or anything like that. I use Flash 4 and I do no need to put Quotation Marks, it does it for me. So if I made you feel bad, I'm sorry.

PS. I dont say 'Sorry' very often, I think many people just say it, but I say it when I mean it. So, Sorry. [sig][/sig]

How do you get a flash menu to load up a page in a frame website? I have my flash stuff on the sidebar and i want it to load up the webpages in the main windows, but it keeps loading up stuff in a new windows, and i have tried targeting it but it does not work. HELP PLEASE!

Hi Flashguy,

If the name of the main frame is 'main' (check your HTML)put 'main' into the target field. If it is 'right' put 'right' in there.

Hope this helps. Mail me if you still need help. [sig]<p>Napalm 2000<br><a href=mailto:hlechler@hotmail.com>hlechler@hotmail.com</a><br><a href= 2000's Domain</a><br>[/sig]
