Hi everyone,

I'm in the process of migrating reports from our CE 10 to our BOE XI R2 environment. One problem that has popped up is a function called "GetWord". Apparently this is a deprecated function from before CR 10.

It works in our CE 10 environment because politics forced us to install the UFLTECH1.DLL on our servers, which granted this functionality.

However we would like to get away from using that function or installing those DLLs. If any of you are familiar with that function, could you please tell me an equivalent function in CR XI? One that we could relatively easily replace that function with.

Similarly, we might need to find a replacement for "StrTok". Is there a replacement for that?

Thanks in advance,
TXKnight :)

Could you describve what it is that each of these functions do?

That's part of the problem. I'm not exactly sure what they do.

When I researched this DLL awhile back ago, I think I learned that STRTOK is similiar to C's "STRTOK" function. C's version returns a pointer to the next token in a string, given a specified delimiter. I think Crystal's version just returned the token.

I have the foggiest idea what "GETWORD" did. I was hoping one of you guys might know.

Thanks,
TXKnight :)

Crystal is able to replicate this functionality.

As for the getword - I am really not sure as I have not used this UFL. If you could paste in a formula / selection criteria where it is used we may be able to work out it's usage.

With regards to string manipulation, Crystal is very powerful as soon as you are familiar with the usage of the built in tools.
