New Users Created, Cannot log into the phone

Good afternoon. IPO newbie. I created 8 new users for a new topic we are developing. Long story short. When I setup the phone These users cannot login, from a new phone. I have to login as a preexisting user, for new user, to login to the phone. These are setup for hot desking. It's probably a simple setting somewhere. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
 
Can you log on an existing user on that phone?
If yes, then *36 to log one out and try the new user.

So from the initial setup of the phone, I cannot login to it from these new users. If I login to the phone, with, my login let's say. I'm fine. That I log out with the logout button I have placed on the users phones. Does that help at all?
 
Digital or IP?

You should dial *36 until you see a 'login' button appear on the screen (bottom left of display). At that point you press 'login' then enter the extension number and login pass code. Please be aware that the login pass code is defined under 'User > Telephony > Supervisor Settings' and is NOT the password field under the 'user name'.

Sounds like either there is no IP extension created but only the users or that you have mismatching extensions and users.
 
If you have created the new users and have not created the h323 extension then you can't login With the new user.

Set extension auto create to on.
Then you will be allowed to login with the new user because the system will now create the extension for you.

Or create the new extn manually
Create the new user manually and when asked do you want to create a h323 extn say yes.(tick yes)'
 
When the phone comes up initially, It asks for the extension and password. I put the ones in, that I created, and it says that it is being used by another phone and to take over press continue or login. If i press continue, I see all 208s on the phones and back to this screen. I then try logging in again or with one of the other new ones. Same things. I than login with my code, boom it works. After i log out with my extension, I go login in with the new extensions, and they work. To snowman's post, I don't believe I picked h323, as it was undefined. I will take one and recreate it with that and see what happens. I remember seeing three choices,SIP, undefined and and third one, if I remember correctly.
 
Yep, you have created the users but not the extensions so they cannot be logged in.

When you log you in you are logging in your extension as a base extension which automatically logs your user in as it matches. You can then *36 to log your user off and log the new user on.

Users and extensions are two different things.

So to switch them to a h323, is the only way to convert them over, is to delete and rebuild the users? I appreciate everyones help on this. This was the issue. not being h323.
 
No just delete the extensions and program them correctly.

Have you ever done this before? You can't muddle your way through it or it will end in tears....:)

 
Easy way is to Copy and paste an existing user... then change details ;)
 
This was the first time on my own since training in February. This is the first addition since then. I had everything else right minus that. Much more practice i need!
