New user question 3

How do I setup a new user with a meridian 2616 phone via terminal (ld ?). I am using an established system for the first time, so any help would be appreciated.

My advice is to print out an existing set and use it as a template.

Use LD 20 to print a set:

REQ PRT
TYPE DNB
CUST 0
DN 1234

From this you will get the TRN, which is where the phone is programmed. Print this as your template, also printed in LD 20

REQ PRT
TYPE TNB
TN 5 0 0 12

Once you have this, you can either copy or create a new phone from scratch, using the other phone as a guide in LD 11. Let us know if you need more.

might help to read a few older post.. they was some pretty good faq's on that at one time... here's a short jump start..

after you print a simular set.. you need two things, a tn and a dn...

ld 20
prt
luvu
2000 (that finds all vacant terminial numbers for digital sets)

return, and copy one tn from that list

then (still in 20)

prt
ludn

x that is the leading number your looking for.. if most stations in that dept is 5, i usually look for a 5, a return with no 1st digit gives you all vacant dn's..

once you get those two, follows scotts lead..

that would make a copy of the 2616 on tn 4 0, the new tn, 5 0.. key 0 will be ext 500... those are normal tn's for an opt 11.. (on the wall switch) for larger systems the tn format is 4 0 0 0 for the 1st pair on that cable (cable 5)
