New User - Lost! Delete Record from Goldmine??

Hello,

I started a new job where they use Goldmine 5.5. I have never used Goldmine before. I am trying to clean up the database by deleting records of clients that we no longer need.

This is how I am approcahing it.
- I look-up the contact (by lastname, comoany etc)
- I do EDIT-DELETE CONTACT

But it doesn't work. The contact is still in there. I realized this after 'deleting' about 30. I though it was a user-luck issue, so i closed Goldmine on everybody's desktop, but still get the same result. I searched online, and there are numerous software that i have to purchase in order ot delete records?
Can anyone help me? Please?

You may not have the authority to delete them from the database. Are you set up with Master Rights?
