Hi all,
I have a small home network with a Win2k server in it. The basic functions it performs are NAT (Internet to Home Network), DHCP, and DNS. What I would like to do is set up the server so I can dial in to it, and access the entire home network and Internet. Currently, I can dial-in, but I cannot access anything. How can I set the server up to allow me Internet access and network access to dial-in users? As a side note, anyone dialing in would be using Windows 2000 or XP. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Brian

Maybe put another modem in it with a seperate line then configure RRAS

SilviaS-
After reading my post again, I realized I probably didn't make my question as clear as I should have. First of all, I have DSL. What I want to do is allow someone to dial in to the server and access the Internet (thru the DSL line) and home network. Where I am having trouble is I'm not sure exactly how to configure this. If someone could explain to me briefly how I would configure this (or point me in the direction of a guide on how to do this), it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Again!
Brian

Dear Brian
I think you can solve the problem by adding a modem card (you will dial in to this one using remote access services - RAS) and then set up routing to the network card on the internal network and the dsl modem. The RRAS component on W2K server can do this but its a temperamental beast. The wizard should do most of the work for you but you should be aware it may leave a few things open that you might not need and may be a security risk.

What you definitely do need is a copy of the ultra-excellent 'Mastering Windows 2000 Server' by Mark Minasi (Sybex ISBN 0-7821-4043-2) Chapter 22 - its expensive but if you have a 2k Server its worth every penny!

Good luck!
