Hi all,
just wanted to introduce myself.. I'm the EDI coordinator for Parmalat North America (Bakery Division) here at Mother's Cookies in Oakland California. Doing some research on 894 documents and came across this site so I joined it. We use the Peregrine/Harbinger/Premenos (could they change their name more often??) EDI product on the AS/400. E-version 5.2.

Not sure I can help anyone, but I'm pretty skilled with this thing, thanks to a lot of hair pulling and 4 letter expletives! 810s, 816s, 864s, 850s and now 894/895 documents.

Hope to learn from the posts on here and hopefully add something every now and then.

Regards,

Hi Tom!

I see you are on E-version 5.2 ... I am curious did you perform the upgrade to E-version 5?!? I'd just like to hear your feedback / experiences. We are currently at V2.11 and will need to face an upgrade sometime. I hadn't heard many success stories on that front; just thought I'd see what you experienced!

Thanks, k

Hi,
Yes, I did perform the upgrade from 2.11 to eV5. I was kinda worried that all my mapping, etc wouldn't come over correctly, but it went VERY smoothly. The only issue I had was that I had custom programs written over vendor files that had to be changed. Other than that, it was a piece of cake. eV5 is a solid product... no problems with bugs, etc. I continue to use the green screens (because I find them faster to work with) except for mapping, which there is no choice - GUI only. The GUI "visual mapper" of eV5 is a big step up from the 2.11 mapper that I was used to.

Hope this helps!

Regards,
Tom.
