New to SL1100

I am an Avaya man by trade but have looked at and decided to sell the NECSL1100 as a secondary system. I am familiar with the old UX5000 (learned enough programming to be dangerous). Sold my first system today and will have product in my hands to play with awhile before taking out to site.

It will be a very basic setup at a school. Majority of phone are SLT sets. I only will have 6 digital sets deployed. One of the digital sets along with a 60DSS console will be in the teachers lounge. On the DSS console I need to set up at least 24 buttons to have vm message wait indication so that teacher's can go to the DSS console find their lit up button press and auto login into their voicemail box. I am doing this now with their current vodavi system. What is the program I need to go to set this up?

Also what program do you associate a DSS to an extension?

This system prices out good and seems feature rich. I was selling the vertical SBX but going to drop if this works out.

Know a guy who used to install the BEC XN120's

great little system, full of features again, but alas no more due to the tsunami

He had a go with the SL1100 but had issues with it rebooting and loosing config

Now just installs Panasonic's due to the bad experience he had with the SL1100

these issues may have been resolved with firmware etc

Yorkie was it the SL1100 or the SL1000 ? You are aware they are different systems ?

think NEC tried to be everything to all with this switch

not over impressed with its construction either, just feels flimsy, sorry but just my opinion

Yorkie, i agree with you on the SL1100. It was released to the market with lots of bugs, and yes it does not have the NEC quality i have been use to in the past. I am dragging my feet on this one.
