Hi,

I am a fresh graduate in Computer Science and I would like to pursue career in SAP. I was wondering if anyone could tell me How do I go about it, what could be the possible options? Does 'experiance' criteria is important, can there be any trade off for that, like SAP Certification?

Thanks,

-Zak

I do know of a few individuals who got into SAP through a self funded certification, and were then picked up by a consultancy. I also know a couple of individuals who joined an SAP project doing business process support, who then got into report writing and eventually ABAP.

In my experience I was already programming in RPG, VB and SQL and had accumulated alot of relevant industry knowledge. I joined an SAP project as a developer who the business were prepared to put through the ABAP courses.

An SAP course or two is pretty important to get your foot on the ladder, but my advice would be to also do as much learning as possible on one of the module areas.
SAP is so broad that there are numerous specialist areas to develop in and which one you head towards, does really depend on opportunity.

Hope this helps,
Mark.
