Hi everyone. I been installing our new (new to us) Norstar Plus compact ICS with callpilot 100 My big question is how do I tell what version firmware I have in either units. Everything works fine but I would like to use the most up to date stuff if I can. Or if it even pays.. Thanks a lot.

Check your system version in Maintenance. Write down the SP code and then refer to this FAQ
Check the CallPilot version by logging into F983, then dial 9 to display the software version.

I'm surprised the Call Pilot works. It's supposed to only be compatible with DR4.1 or higher. If all is working OK I'd leave it alone. If the Call Pilot is acting flaky, then I'd suggest upgrading to at least DR6.1. DR7.1 added the new DST schedule.

I think Nortel/Avaya still makes the T7000 series. There is also a large resale market for the older M7000 series telephones.

It doesn't sound like you have a compelling need to upgrade. There are lots of Norstar resellers around that can help with upgrades.

You'll need to replace the 2 trunk cards with caller ID cards and do a little programming. Also, confirm that your dialtone provider is sending caller ID info.

You only need to replace the first trunk card if you only have 4 lines. You can find some programming help on my website.

Yes. That's the older style caller ID card, but it works fine.

You also have to upgrade your software on your KSU (It sounds alot like you have a CIC's cabinet). Anyway you r software has to be at least 6.1 to recieve caller ID and will need programming under each set/line for CI. It will also only appear on sets that are ringing on incoming calls.

That's the MICS you need DR6.1 or higher. The CICS works with any release.
