I would like to learn about the Java language.
Could anyone recommend websites/reading suitable for me?
I am a professional analyst/programmer with experience in various high/low level languages.

Go to This Sun's official Java website and contains tons of tutorials and links to other Java sites. Another good Java site is It is more for experienced Java Developers but sometimes they run Beginner Articles and you could look through the archives. They actually ran an article a month or 2 ago reviewing the new breed of Beginner Java Books. Getting one of these books is the best way to learn more about Java, no tutorial can cover everything. Try getting some books from the library. Preferbaly don't get books that are too simple or too in-depth. Simple in the sense that they cover only on loops and stuff only, which you should know already. In-depth in the sense like they only cover on Java2D etc. Try getting some books that contains some GUI, console based and applets examples. It should be enough to get you going for quite some time :)

Leon If you need additional help, you can email to me at zaoliang@hotmail.com I don't guaranty that I will be able to solve your problems but I will try my best :)
