Hi,

We have adopted a client who wants us to look after their iPECS-100 system.
They have handed us 2 new phones LIP 8012D and want us to make them work.
We don't have a clue where to start in that they plug in, power up, but wont connect to the system.
Does anyone have a quick quide on replacing or adding a new handset to the system please?
TIA

open the system cabinet and tell me what boards you can see. I need on MFIM100 there is 4 way dip switch. What are the positions? Look for POE8 board. Is there a free port? Take a fly lead and plug it on the poe8 free port and on the lan port on your phone. Leave for a while and see if it will register

Go to any handset

Press TRANS/PGM
Press 78
Press *147*
Scroll through the settings using the volume up/down key
Note down what the IP address is under MFIM IP Address.

Go to the new handsets, repeat the above and enter the IP Address above using the keypad. Use the star button for a dot. Press Hold/Save, Press Speaker.

Ok, Press Trans *#..... TRANS/PGM..... the transfer key?.......sigh!

if multicasting is turned on . which it is by default . if you double tap the trans/pgm key then it will auto update alot quicker and you wont have to wait . if it doesnt . either multicasting is off . or you have simply run out of ports on the system .

when they power up do they say anything on the screen its real common for the older d series phones to just light up and do nothing else . and your have a blank screen . if this is the case your need to get them repaired or you can do it your self by cutting a capacitor out of the phone .
