I am new to IP Office and would like a general opinion as to which type of phone is better, SIP or VoIP?

Depends on what you are doing. I prefer SIP due to many factors but H.323/VoIP phones work well too.

SIP is VoIP, this isnt really the place for such questions though, I think you have misunderstood the purpose of this forum
