I have configured exchane on a sbs 2000 box and can get mail working on the internal domain but anythin from the internet isnt working!
I am used to using MDaemon but this thing is realy confusing me!

Please help

Do you have an MX record?

That is all there is to it if you don't have a firewall.

What is the NDR you get when sending from the internet? Dan

Yup Dan is dead right, MX record and DNS working corectly thats all here is to it. Not as user freindly as MDaemon though.

I have given up and uninstalled exchange on the sbs 2k box and installed MDaemon!
Worked first time.
I ran out of time. I will revisit exchange next time i am at this site.
Thanx for all the help!

this might sound dumb but, What do you mean by a mx record?

MX record -- Mail Exchanger records

To determine mail hosts, the sending server checks for an MX record. Next, the sending server resolves the MX record to an IP address by checking for an address record (A record). If an A record is found, the address is fully canonicalized and mail can be delivered. If it can't be found, then you receive only internal mail, not external.
