All,
This is a request for information about ASP. Net. I have a few applications under my belt using Classic ASP but my office now want to move onto ASP. Net. The majority of our work is based around databases. I have been looking into which development environment to use. This is the problem is arising. We will only developing asp.net so I don't think we need the full studio but do I need standard-professional- enterprise, can I get a version for VB/ASP. Net. Then which version I need to use 2003 - 2004 - 2005. It’s all a bit confusing. We will only be requiring 4 licences. I work in the health service so we don't want to spend money on extras we will never use.

Any help would be appreciated

Simon

If you're working with databases, I'd recommend you purchase the 2003 Enterprise Developer.

Enterprise Developer allows you to create databases and modify database properties on the fly from within VS.NET, as opposed to constantly having to walk over to your database server and modify the database through SQL Enterprise Manager (or whatever the case may be), then walk back to your developer computer to continue developing.

So is there any point getting 2004/5 versions of VS. Net. Do I really need the whole version of VS.Net or can I purchase a version that is focus to ASP.Net

2005 has not been released entirely, yet. Yes, you can purchase only ASP.NET
