Hello, I've been "thrust" into managing a Windows 2003 Server (SBServer) with no training, just some old basics I learned on an NT machine. I have some basic questions if someone could help me, or point me to a place I can get help.

1) Is there a way I can view which users are logged in, their IP address, bandwidth using, etc.?

2) IIS - I can't seem to get this working, when I point to the " site I just get the choices for the company website, network configuration wizard, etc. (everybody sees this), but the company website link just points back to this same webpage. I copied an index.html page into this folder, but it doesn't see it. I've looked at security issues in the help file, but I'm not coming up with any answers.

Thanks in advance!

Mike

1)Windows 23k does not offer a way of seeing who is currently logged in, unless you would like to see who is accessing shared files in which you can see logged in users in computer management > shares.

2) Your IIS issue sounds like a DNS problem. When your users go to the company web site appears as it is currenlty your default webpage. You would either need to remove that site, change the default web page that is opened or add another web site. open IIS and right click on your web site, then go to properties and click on the documents tab. There you will see the web page that IIS will try to open first. change that to you new index web site page. That will stop that old site from coming up.

good luck

In reply to your 1st query:

At Command Prompt, "net session" will list all the users and their IP (or host name). "net files" will list all files opened and by who (much like in computer management > shares).

Thanks

Thank you both! I did find that I can add my files to the folder, then when users point to the server's ip address or servername it comes up as well.
