I am currently wiring the phones for a Merlin Magix. I have run Cat5e for the phone wire and terminated at the phone system with RJ45's. I have never wired for this style phone the are the 4406D+ and the 4412D+. which have a 6 pin line connection. How do I do the pin out? I have tried many things but because the phone system is not programmed i am unable to test or I am wiring it incorrectly and that is why I am unable to test. When I wire it I get the voicemail port to flash but no system time or date. Does that mean it is fine and just not programmed? does any one have a correct pin out to wire this? Any help would be great.

THanks

4406 and 4412 phones come off of 412-TDL and 024-TDL boards, which end in female Amphenol connectors. You will plug in a male connector, and punch the 25-pair down on a block. Terminate your Cat-5 cables on a different block, put RJ-45 connectors on the other end (use 568-A or B, just be consistant). The 6-pin plugs on the line cords supplied with the 44XX phones will fit in the jack and make contact to the two center pins, the Blue pair.

Now jumper the White/Blue pair from the Cat-5 block to the station you want on the block from the Magix station cards.

Remebmer the 1st TDL station on a Magix system can ONLY be a 4424 or 4424LD, not a 4412 or 4406.

Are their any major difference between the Merlin Messaging 1.1 and the 2.5? The price is $200 difference.

Thanks I am now aware that I have the wrong boards for phones so I just bought a bunch of MLX phones on ebay.

Thanks

Jason

Well, since you are now using MLX, forget everything we told you about the 44XX series phones. You can get by with using just the Center 2 Paris with most MLX sets, but the OPERATOR, if equipped with a DSS, will need all 4.

Yeah I have wired for MLX when i saw the 44xx phones I didn't think they would be wired differently or need a different card to run them.

Thanks for all the help

Jason

Merlinman,

On another post you said you have your cell phone converted through something in your LAB and it appears as a copper/regular trunk in your Magix switch..
It's been bugging us since we read it and we just need to know how you did it..
