Hi,

I use Communication Manager 6. I need to set up a hunt group with 2 users. I have a DDI that should point to the first user. If the first agent doesn't answer, then the call goes to the second agent. How can I set it up? I don't know much about Avaya CM. Can you help? Do I need a vector? Do I need a VDN? Do I need an entry in the AAR table? Can you please give me an example and keep the set up as simple as possible? So the DDI is the DDI that the customers will phone.

Thanks!

1st build your new hunt group such as add hunt group next, assign a group extension to this, group type should be ddc, leave acd at no queuing at no, and vector at no. add members, and save. this is a basic hunt group that you will not have to log into, hits 1st member if not answered will it 2nd member. If the group extension is a did number than all is set other wise on a pri you can make an entry in the incoming called handling treatment enter ext delete 4 insert new hunt group extension. Make sure on the hunt group to enter a coverage path.

Thanks! But should I add a few steps in the vector or a vector isn't needed?

sorry you will also need to add a new coverage path assign the hunt group number (not group extension) at cov point 1 so if you created hunt group 50 point 1 in cov path would be h50, now assign this coverage path to the new hunt group, call will go to the 1st agent on list if not answered will hunt to the 2nd member on the hunt group, assign voicemail as the final point in the coverage path for the hunt group extension.the good thing about this type of set up is that if agent 1 doesn't answer it will hunt to agent 2 but will still flash on agent 1's phone, if you do decide to use voicemail at point 2 in the coverage path assign a auto-msg-wt button for the hunt group and give this to the two agents so they can receive a message wait indication on any new voicemails.Keep in mind their are several ways to set this up.

a vdn and vector are not needed in this type of set up, keep in mind that this is a vanilla set up and no log in and log out are needed.
