Hi,

I have a new Win 2000 Server installation - no service packs have been applied.

I've heard that SP4 is full of bugs. But SP3 is pretty old, summer of 2002 I think.

Do you recommend installing SP3 or SP4 ?

Please reply if you have any experience with these sps on servers.
Thanks, John

I have Windows 2000 SP4 on all of our ten servers, without a blip. Many of the issues I have heard with SP 4 were with servers running IIS. If this is a new server, with nothing up on it yet, I would go SP4, and then do your configs.

I concur with Gizmo. If it is a clean install, then SP4 shouldn't be a problem. I have found SP4 causes more problems on Pro workstations than on Server.
