New Security Freeware of interest 1

Has anyone used this product? Is it a worthy install?
What are people using that they would recommend for security?
Right now I'm only on the M$ firewall & Antispyware...plus Norton AV. I need something worthy of securing my computers.

This isn't freeware but instead a 30 day demo

The lower half of the page:

"This software is 100% free! You can use the software as long as you want, and there are no restrictions."

I thought this would be of particular interest:
Advanced Process Manager

The company also produces commercial products.

Bill - have you tried that advanced process manager? (it just goes into not responding mode if I try to use any of its features!) - though would agree the site has some interesting looking free software.

wolluf,

Not yet, I just noticed it on Saturday trying to find a direct link to "DelLater" (the site moves links around on me). It looked to me like a lot of genuinely interesting freeware had been added. I had a site call last week were some malware was morphing processes on me so quickly that they were impossible to stop using Task Manager, so I have had my eye out for an alternative. I have also had a lazy eye out for something that would allow me to configure persistently process and processor priority in hyper-threading and dual core setups. Generally speaking, their commercial products are well thought of in the security community. I spoke to them once last year, and found their tech support quite good.

I promise I will give it a trial this week.

Best regards to you wolluf,
Bill Castner

EdiTek,

See the discussion and links in faq608-4650

Thanks...I was just looking forward to something new in the line of spyware or av from the initial posting here.
I'm always looking for freeware that I can use for work.
Have you heard or any free but worthy task schedulers? I might just code what I need.

Has anyone tried Advanced Process Termination?
I need a script or app that will kill a process on an event change

Thank you for that link, bcastner. The manipulation tool will be very useful.

You should consider the excellent Faber Toys:

I'm using it as a task manager and security app .It's a freeware and better than most of the commercial apps. Look at his features, you'll amazed.Give it a try.
