New scanner and access problem

Hi
I made an program with access 8 years a go and I been using Opticom wedge scanner with no problem, I just change my scanner for a Symbol LS2208 and now when I scan I have an *in font and back.
My question is, y when I scan with Opticon I don't have a * and with symbol I get the * and how to remove the *?
