Hello everyone,
(I must preface this with my "I don't know how to write code or SQL" statement!)
I have a form with 5 subtables that someone else developed.
The Master Item Table has an auto number MasterID feild, with the others linked as child in the forms.
I want to create a parameter query that will copy all existing data from an existing record, including subforms, into the new record, and assign the next auto number.
The prompt would be for
Enter new work center (Master Item Table)
Enter Movex Item Number (Movex_T)

Thanking you in advance,JRS

The problem I seem to have with this is that the id is an autonumber, intrying to automate this to copy over I ge a fault because it is trying to enter the id into the new records field thereby creating a duplicate value.

How about just creating a new record by copying a record from an existing record, but aalowing for the next auto number?
