Hi Guys,

Just stumled across this today and thought I'd share.


Has anyone tried it ?
 
Good stuff. I wonder can this be used on a CP 150 with the latest s/w. It now has 2.45 RCC s/w that has the BCM Verification utility.
 
Not sure to be honest. Going to install on an R5 over the next few days to see what it's like. I'll post after that.
 
I used to work for Avaya, specialising in RCC support. Okay, times move on, however I don't recommend anyone installs any later version of RCC, thinking it will resolve all their problems.

For example, if your existing RCC installation does not work, because the download is not current, I recommend you ensure the latest voicemail patch is applied (as the voicemail component reads the ccrs database on the BCM).

Also there is a dependency between RCC and voicemail versions, in terms of the database schema. I.e. a new version of RCC may not work on an old version of voicemail. Also Avaya would have verified RCC against a particular version of voicemail. There's nothing on the web site that indicates the version of voicemail required, that I've seen (I might be wrong).

I'd stick this in labs only, until you start to see this included in BCM desktop updates, or further details regarding voicemail version required.

If your existing RCC installation is broken on a customer site, I recommend you don't install this, and refer to the RCC troubleshooting document, else raise a case with Avaya. For example, any bad / invalid xml won't be resolved. Put it this way, if your RCC is already broken, and you go to a new version that Avaya technical services probably are not familiar with, that might be fun (LOL).

Paul is correct in saying that if there are issues with the XML coming out of the BCM they need to be addressed - RCC is dependant on the data sent to it.

For those who may not know, Paul refers to “voicemail”, as the BCM Contact Centre runs as a voicemail application under BCM’s Call Pilot Manager

For the sake of clarity RCC 5.0 has been designed to work on:

• BCM 50R3.0, R5.0, R6.0
• BCM 450R1.0, R5.0, R6.0
• BCM 400 upgraded to R5.0, R6.0
• RCC 2.5, 2.6

Avaya have performed compliance testing against the BCM Rls 5.0 and will repeat those tests against the BCM Rls 6.0 this week

This version is not going to be included in BCM patches as it will only be available in English.

RCC 5.0 has successfully completed Avaya Compliance testing by the Avaya DevConnect Technical Team and has been officially accepted as compliant with Avaya's BCM Release 6.0 as of 12th Nov 2010
