New problem for me - Can't start Crystalras.exe

Hello folks.

System = Windows 2003 Std. Ed.
Crystal Reports 10
Crystal Enterprise 10 Embedded
MS SQL 2005
Installed CE/CR as member of Admins.
Crystal Ras service logon as = Local Sys Account

I've searched this forum as well as google and couldn't find an answer so I am posting this question.

After installing CE Embedded I can't start the crystalras.exe service. I also installed CE SP2 but that did not help.

Error returned is:
Could not start the Crystal Report Application Server service on Local Computer. Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

I've installed this product on several servers of this same configuration without any issues. Any ideas????

Hi SueSp,

Look in System Properties/Advanced/Settings/Data Execution Prevention. Try either:

(1) Clicking "Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only"

OR

(2) Clicking "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select" and add "Crystalras.exe
