We are switching from Verizon PRI's to AT&T. For testing purposes AT&T provided a number assigned to the PRI's. We are purchasing 2 PRI's.

To test the new AT&T circuits I created route patter 15 which uses Trunk Group 2 (already a working trunk group) so that calls made from any system phone to my cell phone would go over that trunk group. I then connected one of the new AT&T PRIs to the system. Doing a status trunk group and list trace station I verified calls being made out to my cell were going over the new AT&T PRI. I tested both of the AT&T PRIs and both will successfully make outbound calls.

When I call the number assigned to these AT&T PRIs I get a busy signal. I worked with AT&T but we were unsuccessful in making an inbound call.

What programming am I missing?

This goes along the line of "How do you setup a new main number in the phone system?"

Thank you for your help.

see if the last 4 digits (if you use a 4 digit dialplan) are enabled for "extensions" in your switch, and see if you have those 4 digits defined...

The quickest thing to do is, since it is a PRI, do a "change incomming trunk x" (where x is the trung group of your new PRI), then put in the # of digits expected, what the digits will be, delete "4" (all of them), insert: whatver # you use for your maain #

This will "translate" the temporary # AT&T gave you, to a main # you already answer. If you have an attendant console, you could simply just do a "change ldn", and put the temp AT&T number there, and your attendants will get the call to this number.

There are hundresed of other ways as well, such as an X-ported station, a hunt group, a VDN, ect etc, it depends on what you want to do. Since this is only temporary, until you port your other DIDs to these new AT&T PRI's, just do something simple for testing.

Verify the number of digits AT&T is sending you. They may be sending too many digits.

Or better yet do this:

list trace tac xxx (where xxx is the TAC of your new trunk group)

I think this works on that version...

As far as setting up the main number make it a vdn (add vdn xxxx) and create a vector (ch vec x) that routes (route to step) to your extension for testing.

Thank you for the help. I got it working using the Incoming Call Handling Treatment tab in the trunk group. Stripped off all 10 digits and replaced with a test extension. I did this on Friday but was getting a busy signal. Perhaps AT&T did not have the PRI turned up like they thought or I did something wrong or I did not give the system time to propogate the change. I dunno but it worked like a charm on Monday.

I appreciate all the suggestions. Have a great day.
