new pdc can't find itself

loaded nt on new machine, set up as PDC. when I tey to use server manager or user manager for domains, I'm told domain does not exist. getting frustrated

Ummm.. is there another PDC on the network? Try building as a BDC and promote to PDC and see what happens.

HI.

The NIC drivers are probably not loaded for some reason, or another networking related problem.
Try to simply connect the NIC with cable to a hub or something.

You can also install the "MS Loopback Adapter" virtual NIC - this will solve the problem - but of course will not connect you to the network.
