New Partner Voicemail PC Card Crackle

I just setup a brand new Partner ACS 8.0 with a voicemail PC card small.

Everything on the system is crystal clear, except when I call into the voicemail.

When calling into the voicemail I get a very annoying crackling/staticy sound.

Has anyone encountered with before? Could it be a bad slot on the system or pc card?

While the Partner Voice Messaging is reliable (no hard drive), it isn't out of the question that one could be bad. You could try moving the card to the other port (back up your programming and power the system down before removing the card).

If the static remains, the voicemail is bad. If the static is gone, power down, put everything back the way it first was and try again. If the static returns, the slot is bad.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.
 
We had an R8 with the same problem. When we tried the card in other processors, the problem followed the card. A new card was ordered and installed. The static was gone. No problem since.
 
Just encountered the same problem, tired VM card in R6 & R7 worked fine. Replaced R8 cleared issue.

A new company started making the ACS and PC cards. Found out about two weeks ago. They said it has to do with both the ACS and PC card. The old PC cards will cause static.


ACS R8 ROHS not compatible with PC Mail
700226525/large
700226517/small

If you have a ACS R8 700469487/ROHS you need to have PC card 700429392/ROHS.
 
Note: I had this issue with new VM & R8. Replaced VM small with new VM small, lessen problem but still not corrected. Replaced R8 with new unit problem solved. Had to rerecord all customer greetings and AA to have clear speech.
Original R8 = 700469687 I don't have part # for replacement R8.
Original VM small = 700226517 I don't have replacement part # for replacement VM handy either.

For what it's worth.
