How far away can an Avaya Partner extension be. If the phone system is on the 7th floor and the new extension is on the 1st floor. This will end up being a few hundred feet. What is the limit?

Thanks.

i Just found that a cat5 run can be at most 364FT or 100M. Is that accurate?

But it's not a Cat-5 requirement for the Partner phone. Look at the manual - it is rated at 1000 feet for a multilinephone

Great. So there should be no problem.
Thanks!

I do believe you can install a digital phone from a partner system as far out as 1000' and a analog device at 1500' do not hold this to me but I am pretty sure that is the limitations for the distance on a partner system. The limitations to a data wire is 328' including the patch cords on both ends. I hope this helps.

I have several locations with ACS's that have system phones over 1000 ft away.

Is there any boosting device that can be added for stations sets over 1000 ft?

Guys,

You can also get a system phone to run over 1500' if you up size the wire. What happens over the distance is the same as trying to use a saw with 6 100' extension cords. It will not work due to "voltage drop". Remember that a system phone still uses some power to run it. Up size you wire and it will work just fine.
