Hi,

Our SMS server was running with an onboard NIC which started to loopback constantly on itself. I replaced it with an external NIC and disabled the onboard one but the server could not connect to the clients. I am now going to replace the motherboard in order to work off another onboard card. Is there a way that SMS can be reconfigured for the new card or is a reinstall of SMS needed?

As long as the new NIC is configured with exactly the same IP information of the previous NIC, SMS should continue to work. Initially, you may see errors in Site System Status but eventually the site systems will find the SMS server with the new NIC and return to normal.

I had to perform a similar transplant twice (once with new NIC and once with an entire new server by just swapping the HDs) and did not need reinstall SMS 2.0.
