New micros RES 3700 server setup questions

We have original windows 7 Pro micros server running micros 5.4 MR3 DB. It is old and freezing up frequently.
I have prepare a NEW windows 7 Pro Virtual machine.
Here is my plan:
1. Install fresh copy of micros 3700 MR1 on New windows 7 Pro VM. Upgrade to MR2 and MR3.
2. Rename the new windows server same as the original server.
3. Rename the original DB and log file.
4. Copy the micros.db and micros.log file form original server to this new one.
5. Copy the scripts and report folders.

Questions:
1. Does anyone think above plan will work well?
2. If yes, How do I configure the givx gift card?
3. SIM file for the phone and other orders.

Any help or tip will be appreciated highly

OK.
I created NEW micros server 3700 5.4 MR1.
Upgraded to MR2 and then MR3.
Rename the original micros.db and micros.txt to microsorg.db and microsorg.txt.
Copied the Current DB and Log file from old micros server which is version MR3.
Now the DB will not start.
Any ideas, please?

Now, I did MR3 upgrade to see if the current copied DB gets updated.
I receive following error.

No need to respond to the previous question. I was able to update the DB by restoring Archive file.
Questions: Now the DB is starting, How do I transfer the license key from the previous server to this new one? I have MR3 already installed on New server.

Res 5.4 MR3 doesn't need the physical software key. Just open License Manager on the new server, and put a check by everything you have a license code for on the old server.
