Afternoon All,

I am working on a new MiCollab system for a customer at the moment. I have been following the MAS 7.1 and the MiCollab platform integration guide. I have followed it up to the point where I can create the controller hunt groups, created the micollab line groups and added lines. Activated Nupoint in micollab but how do I remove the old voicemail they have still on their controller to activate the new properly?

Also It may be a pretty general wide question but I am also having trouble logging into Micollab client for the users to start making calls / chat from their PC. I belive the log in details in the controllers and Micollab to be correct but any quidance or help is appreciated.

Thanks.

JC

RE: logging in to Micollab: If you are using a peer to peer network, you need to setup the Hosts file on each PC to assign an IP address to the Micollab domain name.

Thanks for the advice but the system i'm working on isn't peer to peer, its peer to server. The error message when someone tries to log on is "Invalid micollab service address." I have got them to enter the username and password that they use to access their computers normally but this doesn't work.

so my question is, should they be using a different first time password and if so, how can I force the welcome email out to show what the password is? and if anyone knows what the micollab service address is and where to update it?

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers, Justin

when you loaded the Micollab , what hostname did you give it?
it should have a valid hostname and be part of a valid domain and then it's fqdn added to the dns server

clients should use that when the software is installed

for example

micollab server hostname is collab , domain name is company.com fqdn is collab.company.com
ip address of server is 172.16.1.6

internal dns entry is collab.company.com with IP 172.16.1.6

if there are to be external clients , you need a public Ip with incoming ports 443 and 36008 directed to the same server ( there may be other ports as well but thats of the top of my head)

eg public ip 201.222.222.201 public dns collab.company.com

at router incoming on 201.222.222.201 443 sent to 172.16.1.6 443 and incoming on 201.222.222.201 port 36008 sent to 172.16.1.6 36008

( if you want other functionality ( AWV . TW ) then there are a heap of other requirements

as far as voicemail assuming you have programmed it properly you can create a 1st alternate directed at the Nupoint pilot and set your users to use that patetrn

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

Billz is correct you need to ensure that the Domain names are setup correct as MiCollab Client ONLY works via Domain names and not IP's. Also from the server you can send the users out welcome emails and this contains all their login credentials, Web Addresses and Software download links.

THanks Billz66 for the advice,

I was speaking with one of our other Mitel guys over the weekend and he advised the same thing. When I checked the config fil for it, it was missing the WebServicesHost and the TelephonyServerIP values. I was unable to change them manually without the admin access to their system. Will let you know how it goes once tested.

Cheers,
Justin.

Thanks for the reminder jpruder to post back. I attended site on Monday and got the admin password. Updated the two bits of data, restarted the computer and Micollab logs in fine.

I have told their IT manager who rolled it out wrong and now he can fix the rest of his computers. Thanks guys!

good job
