New mail shows as read 1

Hi all..

I am having a slight problem. I use Notes version 5.11. When I receive new mail it appears as read (in black) as opposed to the usual unread (in red text).

I have tried replacing the design of the mail file but the problem is still there. does anyone know how to fix this?

Hi,

Did you check if there are any agents running in your database that do something with new mails and are using your name as the signer?

I have seen this behaviour also as a bug on some Notes clients that where replication their databases to a local replica. Somehow Notes started to mess up the read/unread marks due to the replication.
Deleting the replica and re-creating it somtimes solved the problem, but occasionally some messages kept being marked wrong.

If nothing else seems to work I advice you to create a new mailbox and to move your mails to that new box.

Hi again!

I am just thinking of another possibilitry: in the advanced database properties there is an option called "don't maintain unread marks"... You did not select this option by accident did you?

In most cases, you just need to close the client, delete de cache.dsl file (on \lotus\notes\data); then open the client and compact the Workspace (access the wrkspace properties, go to econd TAB and click on compact button).

Why did I not think about that LNunes? I guess I always look for a difficult way to solve problems ;-)
